Assessment Centres

Assessment centres are particularly relevant in certain circumstances and are a powerful way of accurately identifying the relative strengths of candidates - whether for recruitment, selection for promotion, or special projects.

The assessment centres that we typically organise give a comprehensive insight into the relative strengths and aptitudes of candidates via: -

  • a range of psychometric tests (including personality assessments and ability tests)

  • individual exercises

  • group exercises

  • interviews

The assessment centres usually take up to a day, at the end of which there is normally a "wash-up" session where the candidates' performances are reviewed by the relevant management and decisions are made about the next steps.

Setting up an assessment centre programme requires considerable preparation and care to ensure it runs smoothly and focuses on the relevant competencies, but there is no doubt that the information gained allows much more informed decisions to be made about selection.  And, as with a carefully implemented programme of psychometric testing, it leaves candidates with a favourable impression of the client company responsible for the process.
